East of Scotland Premier League, Wednesday 4th April 2007
Heriot Watt University 1
Whitehill Welfare 3
Whitehill kept their
slim hopes of lifting the Tyreman Premier Division title
alive when they beat Heriot-Watt University 3-1 at
Riccarton.
Whitehill looked the
more dangerous and it was Wilkes who eventually hit
home his own rebound on the half hour. Five minutes before
half-time Malone headed in a superb cross from
Christie to make it 2-0.
However, seconds after
the interval the students hit back when MacKain
fired home from 20 yards.
The goal gave the
students a lift but they were struck on the breakaway when
Nicky Walker raced through unchallenged to slip the
ball past Tildesley in the Heriot-Watt goal.
