Ormiston 0
Whitehill Welfare 3
Whitehill ensured a
100% record in their League Cup section with a 3-0 win
over Ormiston. Following their shock exit from the
Qualifying Cup, Rab Finlay and Raymond Carr rang the
changes with Brian McEwan coming in at left back, Ross
Johnston back in central defence and Alan McDonagh and
Paul Hart restored to the midfield.
An uninspiring first
half kicked into life just after the half hour mark when
McEwan cut in from the left and made a neat
interchange with McKenna, before
being set up inside the box from where he applied a cool
finish into the keeper's right hand corner. Welfare just
about deserved the lead as they had made more running in
the quest to break the deadlock.
Welfare wrapped up
the game with a close in finish from Malone after
he was set up by Walker.
Ormiston then lost their keeper to injury and having used
all their subs, were forced to carry on with ten men.
Nicky Walker completed the scoring after cutting
into the box from the left and hammering home from 12
yards.
