Whitehill Welfare 2 Hearts XI 0
An evenly contested match with
very few chances until McDonald got into a tangle with his
central defenders in the 44th minute leaving Wayne
McIntosh with an easy job to tap the ball home. Then in
the 45th minute Welfare's Christie was brought down in the
box and Wayne McIntosh scored easily
from the from the spot.
Second half was mostly Whitehill with Hearts best chance
falling to Thorarinsson who shot wide with just the keeper
to beat and was also denied by a good stop from the
Whitehill keeper. The home side almost made it 3-0 in the
80th minute after a good cross from Walker which Doig
headed just wide.
Some excellent
performances from Whitehill sporting their new strip and all in all a great workout for the
squad and we believe a first ever win over a Hearts side
by Whitehill?
