The Class of 19
70-71

                                                                                                             November 2007

Dear Sirs

HI AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT YOUR WEBSITE AND ITS GOOD TO SEE WHITEHILL ARE BASHING ON - I HAVE FILLED IN YOUR  QUESTION AIR ON PAST PLAYERS AND WILL ATTACH IT TO THIS E-MAIL ALONG WITH A COUPLE OF PICTURES OF THE 1970 -71 SEASON. I HAVE GOOD MEMORIES OF, THE ONLY SEASON I PLAYED WITH WHITEHILL AFTER PLAYING 6 MONTHS WITH BONNYRIGG ROSE.

DURING THIS SEASON WE WON EVERY CUP AND WERE ONLY DEFEATED ONCE EARLY IN THE SEASON WHICH WAS AN ACHIEVEMENT AT THAT TIME. I THEN SIGNED FOR COWDENBEATH DIRECT FROM WHITEHILL AND AT THAT TIME THERE WERE ONLY THE FIRST AND SECOND DIVISION AND COWDENBEATH HAD JUST COME DOWN FROM THE FIRST DIVISION AND ALTHOUGH I ENJOYED PLAYING FOR COWDENBEATH, I THINK THE SEASON WITH WHITEHILL WAS THE SEASON I ENJOYED THE MOST, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THE SUCCESS.

regards

Alan Kinnell

Above: Welfare at a presentation night in 1971. Can anyone spot a young Mr McGauley, A young 'Shanksie' and young Mr Renwick as well as Mr Bobby Beveridge Senior?

Above: Welfare were often a passport to the senior ranks as one of the most successful secondary juvenile sides in the 60s and 70s. Alan Kinnell duly moved onto Cowdenbeath.
